/Experimental Therapy/ A calcium aluminate cement (Doxa Certex, Uppsala, Sweden) /was/ developed intended for use as direct restorative filling material for posterior restorations. The material is inorganic and non-metallic and the main components are CaO, Al2O3, SiO2, and water. The aim of this study was to evaluate intra-individually the experimental calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and a resin composite (RC) in Class II restorations.

27Al multi quantum (MQ) MAS NMR spectroscopy was used for the first time to characterize calcium aluminate hydrates, which are of importance in the chemistry of high alumina and Portland cements. Substitution sites of silicon by aluminum in the calcium silicate hydrates (C-S-H) which are the main component of Portland cement paste were studied too. Calcium aluminate cements have been in production for nearly 100 years. There are a range of cements with Al2O3 contents ranging from 40-80%, but all with monocalcium aluminate, CaAl2O4 as the most important hydraulic phase. Calcium Aluminate Calcium Aluminate Cements. Jason H. Ideker, Calcium aluminate cements have been in continuous production for Constituent Materials. Calcium aluminate

Calcium-aluminate cements are primarily used for high heat refractory applications. Other uses include moderate acid-resistant applications, high-early-strength and quick-setting mixtures, and as part of the expansive component in some shrinkage-compensating cements.

Concrete pipes for sewerage can be made either with full mass calcium aluminate cement concrete or with an internal liner of calcium aluminate cement mortar, Rehabilitation of man-accessible sewer infrastructures with 100% calcium aluminate mortar using one of the following installation methods: low pressure wet spray, spinning head wet spray or high pressure dry spray (gunite). Liquid calcium aluminate inclusions with low SiO 2 and high SiO 2 were often found with spinel inclusions before vacuum degassing. Laboratory experiments showed that spinel would react with the dissolved Ca in the liquid steel forming calcium aluminate inclusions.
